Our Mission

MindCare is New Brunswick’s only Foundation for mental health.

MindCare New Brunswick is devoted to improving the lives of people all around us. Through research and education funding, MindCare New Brunswick promotes mental wellness. And through its sponsorship of expert community services, MindCare assists all those living with all types of mental illness.

Mental illness is all around us. Directly or indirectly, mental illness affects the lives of all Canadians. It cuts across social, economic, religious, political and general boundaries.

MindCare is committed to attacking this stigma, which is often the result of lack of knowledge. It is only within this generation that any real understanding of the working of the human brain has developed. And it is real understanding that will change the way people think.

We also:

• Fund information workshops and educational seminars for students, mental health professionals and the public.
  
• Provides educational funding and learning opportunities to students and mental health workers.
  
• Sponsors research projects to increase understanding and to improve the quality of patient care both in hospital and in the community.
  
• Provides funding to community outreach activities that are working diligently to improve the delivery of mental health services through our signature events, Investors Group Skate to Care and the Tim Hortons World 3on3 Street Hockey Championships.
